In 1995 Robert began working closely with the United Nations. He presented several seminars through the Informatics Committee, chaired by Ambassador Ahmad Kamal, then Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN. These seminars were well attended, especially those leading up to the Y2K crisis. Robert’s lucid description of complex issues assisted several nations as they sought to resolve this looming technological threat in their countries. As he gained the confidence of those he met, he promoted the concept of a human rights treaty for the disabled. Robert is totally blind.

He is a representative to the UN from the CCCUN, an accredited NGO. Robert has actively participated in the Ad Hoc Committee on a Comprehensive and Integral International Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities, since its inception in 2002. The Ad Hoc Committee finalized its work at its eighth session in the summer of 2006 and on August 25, 2006, delivered its recommendations to the General Assembly.

Robert is the founder of Blind Visions Technology, Inc., and as such he has worked tirelessly in national and international forums to promote technologies, designs, and practices that benefit the disabled, particularly those who are totally blind.
